Must Visit Beautiful Places in Pakistan

Forbes named Pakistan one of the world's "Top 10-Under-the-Radar Travel Destinations" in 2020.

Conde Nast, a well-known travel magazine, named Pakistan the "No. 1 Travel Destination for 2020" the same year.

Pakistan, home to the 4000-year-old Indus Valley Civilization, has an unrivaled landscape. The country has it all, from mountains to lakes to stunning historical architecture! It is a haven for those who find solace in travel. This is a very important part of the world

Even though Pakistan has breathtaking natural beauty and dazzling sites to visit, little is known about it. Majestic mountain peaks, tranquil turquoise-blue, emerald-green valleys, and deserts - this is only a small portion of what the country has to offer!

One thing is certain: if you travel across Pakistan, you will not be disappointed.

You will not be able to visit every site if you plan to travel across Pakistan. We have listed some of the best tourist attractions in the country for you to visit in this blog.

With that said, let us take you along for the ride.

1. Swat Valley

The Queen of England referred to Swat Valley as the "Switzerland of Pakistan." This valley appears to be straight out of a fairy tale with its vivid green trees and fields, crystal clear skies, and charming settlements.

If you happen to visit Swat Valley, you can go hiking, trekking, zip-lining, or simply enjoy the valley's breathtaking views. Don't forget to try the local street food in this beautiful Pakistani valley.

2. Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows is one of our favorite places. Fairy Meadows has become somewhat touristy over time, but we still believe it is worthwhile to visit.

Fairy Meadows is a lovely sight at the foot of Nanga Parbat. These majestic mountains are breathtaking when covered in snow. When you visit Fairy Meadows, you will be surrounded by lush green grass, snow-capped mountains, fresh cherry from the trees, and the warm people of Gilgit Baltistan.

Getting to this beautiful location is a perfect example of the adage "good things come to those who wait" (with a little hard work, in this case). To get to Fair Meadows, you must first take a bumpy jeep ride. After the ride, you'll have to hike in the mountains for nearly 3 hours to reach the heavenly location.

But we assure you that it will all be worthwhile!

3. Thandiani

Thandiana is a hill station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Galya that is surrounded by pine and juniper forests. The area is still relatively unexplored, making it ideal for a weekend getaway.

Not only is the destination itself enjoyable, but the journey to Thandiani is as well. The roads leading to the hill station provide breathtaking views of the mountains. If you visit Thandiani in the summer, you will be able to see beautiful lush green views, whereas the majestic snow-covered peaks will take your breath away in the winter.

Because the mountains surrounding this hill station are densely forested, they are home to a variety of local monkeys, leopards, and pheasants. You might be able to spot one if you're lucky.

If you plan to visit Thandiana, rent a camping pod and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Remember to thank us later!

4. Deosai National Park

Deosai National Park is a beautiful and fertile land blanketed in flowers. These flowers serve as a haven for hundreds of butterflies, bees, and birds that visit this national park all year.

The Deosai National Park is the world's highest plateau, covering an area of 3000 km2. It also has Himalayan Brown bears, snow leopards, lammergeiers, and golden marmots.

If you visit Deosai National Park, you will be amazed by its beauty and diversity.

5. Taxila

Taxila, the lost city, is an ancient civilization and THE place to be for history buffs. The city dates back to 1000 BCE, but some of the ruins on the site are thought to be 3360 BCE old.

If you enjoy exploring old ruins, you will enjoy visiting Taxila because it is not limited to a single location. There are numerous ancient structures present, including a monastery, a cave, stupas, and many others.

6. Badshahi Mosque

The Badshahi Mosque is a Mughal Dynasty relic. The Mosque, built by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, can easily accommodate over 100,000 worshippers.

Badshahi Mosque is architecturally significant in addition to its historical and religious significance. Badshahi Mosque, inspired by the Jama Masjid in Delhi, features intricate tile work, floral motifs, beautiful calligraphy, and a red structure.

If you go to Badshahi Mosque, you should also go to Lahore Fort. It's right next to the Mosque.

Pro Tip: Don't forget to eat at the nearby Food Street. The view of the Badshahi Mosque at night from the food street is not to be missed!

7. Rakaposhi Base Camp

This one is for all trekking enthusiasts!

Rakaposhi Base Camp, with a peak elevation of 7,800 meters, is a haven for adrenaline junkies. The trek is manageable even for beginners, so you can spend a fun day here with your friends. However, before you plan your trip, make sure to check the weather forecast. Make certain that you have all of the necessary equipment.

It is a 4 to 5-hour trek from the village of Minapin, so remember to tighten your shoelaces before embarking on this journey!

8. Rohtas Fort

If you enjoy visiting historic sites, we have another option for you. Say hello to Rohtas Fort, a 16th-century fortress that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Rohtas Fort, near Jhelum, is one of the largest in the Subcontinent. The fort is a stunning relic with a massive structure that transports visitors back in time.

Despite its age, the fort is in excellent condition.

9. Churna Island

You must visit Churna Island if you appreciate water sports. Water sports like cliff diving, underwater exploration, jet skiing, and snorkeling are available at this location in Karachi, close to Mubarak Village.

10. Arang Kel

Arang Kel, also known as the "Pearl of Neelam," is a small, beautiful village in the Neelum Valley. It is located 8000 feet up on a hilltop, allowing tourists to enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains. In addition to this, it is home to horses, wild animals, and rare birds.

Arang Kel is a 5-hour drive from Muzaffarabad, and the drive is nothing short of breathtaking.
